Zoology Department
Department of Zoology in the college was established in the year 2005-06 with 54 students with one faculty at the graduate level. Presently there are one faculty ( Dr Pradeep Pandey), 1 laboratory assistants (Mr. Prakash Chandra Arya) and 1 laboratory bearers (Ms. Pooja Arya) working in the department.
In the current session 2022-23, 160 students are enrolled at B.Sc 1st graduate level. In the last three sessions, there was 100 percent result at graduate level. In the session 2016-17, Ms. Priyanka Chauhan secured first position in the Kumaun University at graduation level.
In year 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 students of college are securing position in university merit.
The department is actively participating and cooperating greenery and plantation activities for healthy Fauna and flora in and around the campus. Various educational tours and extra circular activity viz: debates, quizzes and posters tree plantation, blood donation programmes, awareness programes about biodiversity conservation and environmental protection etc are always running into the department.
Programme Outcome
The subject of Zoology is one of the most fundamental programmes of basic sciences studied at undergraduate level. The program helps to develop scientific tempers and attitudes in students. After studying this program, students will be more equipped to learn and know about different biological systems, their coordination and control as well as evolution, behavior and biological roles of the animals in the ecosystem which is very essential to preserve and conserve endangered species in each ecosystem. After the completion of B.Sc Zoology students have the option to go for higher studies, i.e., M. Sc in Zoology and can also prepare for different competitive posts like Forest Ranger, Sericulture invigilator, horticulture and Agriculture and also professional job-oriented courses, such as Indian Civil Services, Indian Forest Service, and Indian Police Service etc.

1. To encourage the spirit of enquiry, creativity, intellectual capacity, and research in Zoology.
2. To provide students with quality education through the latest and all possible best teaching –learning-evaluative methodologies in the knowledge disciplines of Zoology and other biological sciences.
3. To equip students with the practical skills needed for success in a highly competitive globalized and technology dependent world.
4. To develop social commitment, personal ethics and discipline and proactive leadership among students through co-curricular and extension activities.
