History Department

In Indira Priyadarshini Government Girls Post Graduate College of Commerce, the Department of History for U.G. classes started functioning from the academic session 2015-2016 with one faculty. In 2021 one more post in history was created. Currently there are two faculty members in this department one permanent and another one is in contract. No. Of Students sanctioned in B.A. first year is 160.
Besides teaching, the Department also organizes class wise debate, group discussion and Quiz competition, so that the students can keep pace with the time. Both faculty members are always ready to render all possible assistance and guidance to the students within and even outside the campus when required. Consequently students get through the final examination with flying colours every year and go for further higher studies.

Permanent faculty also supervise research work in various fields related to national as well as local history. Faculty members from the beginning to till date are-

Information Communication Technology tools mostly used for teaching History to improve the quality of education in our college to communicate, create, store and manage information are-
1. Blackboard 2. Zoom App 3. Google meet 4. WebEx 5. Google classroom 6. You tube links by others and also created by us 7. Smart Board 8. Projector 9. PPT Presentation, 10. Edusat and sometimes 11. Historical fictions are also suggested.
