IPGGCC Haldwani department of Sanskrit was established along with the founding of the college in 1996. UG classes were introduced at that time and till date only UG classes are running in this department.
The department envisions creating morally and socially responsible citizens by instilling our cultural values of character building and Nature conservation in them.
The mission is to turn students into means of positive social transformation through their exemplary behaviour.
Student enrollment in the subject has been seeing an upward trend since last few years, and the result has always been close to hundred percent.
Currently there are 21 students under the mentorship, and one research scholar pursuing Ph. D. under the guidance of department in charge, Dr Shweta Bishnoi. Dr Shweta Bishnoi has got 12 research papers published till date. She has participated, and presented research papers in a number of seminars and conferences. The Departmental association hosts a variety of programmes of co curricular as well as extracurricular interests, and the department is committed towards the overall well being of the students.
