Home Science Department
The department of Home Science was started in the year 1996 with the introduction of Home Science in B.A. Home Science deals with the daily activities, such as food, clothing, shelter, finance, health, child care, beautification and community services. The students study papers from the five disciplines of Home Science- Food & Nutrition, Human Development, Clothing & Textiles, Family Resource Management and Extension & Communication. The Department caters the educational needs of learning community coming from different strata of society by providing equal opportunities. With the changing scenario, the curriculum is restructured to include basic as well emerging interdisciplinary and application oriented areas. The curriculum develops appropriate skills, which are significant not only to the students, but also to the local, regional and national needs. The revised syllabus according to NEP-2020 followed from the Academic session 2022-23. The course is of 3 years duration with two semesters in each year.
The department provides a well planned teaching program & to carry it out effectively department has well equipped laboratory with sophisticated equipments.
The knowledge inculcated through Home Science helps to upgrade the standard and quality of life, family and the society as a whole and to reach the extremities in all activities of life with skills and talents.
